A Wealth of Local History
This Grade II Listed, 16th Century coaching house has been frequented in the past by such luminaries as William Pitt (the Younger), Sir Winston Churchill and General James Wolfe, all of whom lived in Westerham or the surrounding area.  It is also located just 5 miles from Biggin Hill, the airfield that played a pivotal role in Britain's victory in the Battle of Britain.
 
 
In a Beautiful Setting
Thirty minutes from Hever Castle and 1066 country, the surrounding area is extremely popular with ramblers and tourists alike.  With its open log fire and welcoming atmosphere the tavern is an excellent example of a traditional English pub, set in Kent, "The Garden of England", and Surrey countryside.
